The Department museum
The Departmental Museum, located in the former Novitiate, offers two permanent exhibitions Chroniques d'une Abbaye au Moyen Age, guérir l'âme et le corps
(Chronicles of an Abbey in the Middle Ages, to cure the soul and the body) and Etienne Galland, portrait d'un homme des Lumières
(Etienne Galland, portrait of a man in the Age of an Enlightenment : by appointment on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday at 4 p.m. except in the event of concerts)
as well as several temporary exhibitions throughout the season. Following on from these exhibitions you can explore such delights as the Salle de Gypserie
(plastered room) or the vaulted room that was formerly the stables.
Entry to the museum is free and also allows access to the mediaeval Abbey garden, the opportunity to attend musical events involving the harpsichord, concerts, and to receive a guided tour of the historical site.
The museum is open daily from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00p.m. from early March until the beginning of November. Opening hours in July and August are from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00p.m.
Closed on Tuesday and 1st of May.
