Guided visits

Friends of the Antonins is an association that offers guided visits of the village,
the Abbey Church and its Treasury. Its aim is to inform you about the cultural and architectural heritage of this village.
Saint-Antoine was a pilgrim shrine in the Middle Ages and its famous Abbey is one of the brightest jewels of Gothic art in the Dauphiné area.
Plunge yourself into centuries of history and explore the impressive collection of objets d'art from the great Order of the Antonines.
We offer guided visits for groups (minimum 8 people) followed by an oppportunity to taste our products. You will learn how the honey is collected, extracted, and conditioned to produce the mead.

In 1989, Claude Chevènement set up a stonemasonry, ornemtation and international sculpture school in the former infirmeries of the Abbey. His son Christophe joined his father in 1998. This craft training centre accommodates groups and individual students. Courses are available for beginners or confirmed craftsmen and cover all fields of stonework. Instruction is individualised and can focus on a number of styles - Roman, Gothic, Celtic,Byzantine.... This year Claude Chevènement's venture was granted the Order of merit by the Craft Industry Ministry as a Living Heritage Enterprise.
In addition, the workshop provides lodgings at le Gîte des Tailleurs de Pierre for students who want to stay at Saint-Antoine. This residence is an eco-habitat with a breathtaking view of the Abbey gargoyles.
